SDG Campus • Sustainable Food Systems World
Culinary Hemp
Culinary Hemp is the quiet corner of SDG Campus where we slow down, listen to the soil,
and learn how one humble plant can help feed people, heal land, and soften our impact
on the planet. No hype, no panic — just gentle food systems education with a cup of
something warm and a friend who’s been barefoot in the garden a few times.
Guided by Hippie Dave, this world looks at hemp as a sustainable crop,
a nutrient-dense food, and a bridge between soil, climate,
and community. We’re not here to sell you miracle products — we’re here to
show how good stewardship and simple nourishment can line up with the Sustainable
Development Goals.
How This World Supports the SDGs
Culinary Hemp lives at the intersection of food, land, and climate. We connect everyday
nourishment to the Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 2 · Zero Hunger — Hemp as a resilient, nutrient-dense crop.
- SDG 3 · Good Health & Well-Being — Gentle, plant-based nourishment.
- SDG 12 · Responsible Consumption & Production — Low-waste, regenerative food habits.
- SDG 13 · Climate Action — Carbon capture, low-input agriculture, climate-smart cropping.
- SDG 15 · Life on Land — Soil health, biodiversity, and better land use.
- SDG 17 · Partnerships — Gardens, growers, students, and communities learning together.
You don’t need a farm to be part of this. If you eat, you’re already in the food system —
this world just helps you see the threads a little more clearly.
Learn with Hippie Dave
Around here, we keep things simple. No jargon wall, no guilt, no spreadsheets of panic.
Just calm explanations of how soil becomes food, how hemp fits
into a healthier system, and what you can actually do with the information in
your own life, budget, and kitchen.
Think of Dave as the guy who sits on the hillside with you and says:
“Yeah, man… if we treat the land a little kinder, it treats us kinder right back.”

Core Lessons in This World
To keep things gentle, we start with a small set of essentials — the lessons that make
everything else easier to understand.
Hemp 101: What Hemp Really Is
A clear, calm introduction to hemp as a plant, a crop, and a source of food —
without the myths, panic, or marketing noise.
Soil → Plant → People
How healthy soil leads to resilient crops, and how those crops turn into the
nourishment that holds communities together.
Sustainable Crop Systems
A gentle tour of crop rotations, regenerative practices, and where hemp fits into a
climate-smart, biodiversity-friendly food system.
As the world grows, we’ll add more lessons on nutrition,
climate, biodiversity, and community food
projects. For now, if all you do is walk through these first three, you’ll
see your own plate — and the land beneath it — in a whole new way.
